Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki has chosen Sephiroth Theme as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauricio Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Aoki pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.

Aoki makes his way to full guard, as Silva worked for a kimura.
Aoki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Aoki keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva pushes down on Aoki's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Aoki kicks Silva off and gets back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Aoki enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aoki manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Silva is standing up over Aoki. Aoki looks to escape but Silva dives into side control.
Aoki is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Silva is controlling him well.

Silva throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Aoki works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Silva uses his free foot to push down on Aoki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Aoki.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Aoki is surviving well by controlling Silva's body position as best he can.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Silva goes for an armbar but Aoki turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Aoki.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
