Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rip James!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from James.
James takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A jab from Doe misses.

Doe throws an ugly left hook that misses
and James counters with a stiff right hand.
Doe misses with a body shot.

Doe misses with a wild body shot.
Doe loads up on a big right hand but James slips the punch.
James misses with a takedown attempt
and Doe counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
James will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jon Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rip James.

and Doe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Doe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A solid leg kick lands there for Doe.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Doe scores with a hook to the body. James takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

James shoots and misses
and Doe counters with a straight right hand.
The fighters circle momentarily. James darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Doe misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Doe.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Doe will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

James lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Doe circles away quickly and effectively.
Doe misses with an uppercut. James saw that one coming.
Doe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice defenses there by Doe.

and Doe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Doe is looking to land body kicks.
James walks into a straight right hand from Doe.
Doe moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Doe counters with a slapping leg kick.

James misses with a lunging right hand
and Doe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jon Doe is winning the standup battle so far.
Doe misses the jab.
James might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Doe swings for the body but James moves out of range.
James throws a lazy head kick
and Doe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Doe dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Doe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Doe takes a swing at James's ribcage but misses.

Doe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

and Doe counters with a nice uppercut.
James fails with the takedown
and Doe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps James thinking.

Nice straight punches there by Doe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Doe.
Jon Doe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
James fails with the takedown
and Doe makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

James takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
James avoids the body shot from Doe.
Rip James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James misses with a hook
enabling Doe to counter with a crisp jab.
James keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
James is trying desperately to land a takedown but Doe is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for James.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
James takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
James swings widly with a right hand
and Doe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James throws a lazy uppercut
letting Doe counter with a right hand.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Doe here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Doe throws a hook but James blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Doe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Doe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
