Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Vaganov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helio Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vaganov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Грот - Рубежи. Helio Kimura has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura circles away from the clinch attempt
and Kimura counters with a nice uppercut.

Kimura can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vaganov is looking to escape.

Kimura swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Vaganov is now in Kimura's guard. A big mistake from Kimura there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kimura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vaganov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kimura on the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Kimura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vaganov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kimura is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Vaganov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kimura has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vaganov has managed to get both his arms back between Kimura's legs - danger averted.
Kimura is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kimura is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vaganov is aware though and is defending well.
Kimura is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vaganov won't allow Kimura to sweep him here.
Kimura manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vaganov manages to get himself to full guard.

Kimura gets to his feet. Vaganov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Kimura counters with a single leg into guard. Vaganov didn't expect that.

Kimura is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vaganov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kimura decides to stand up, so the ref orders Vaganov to his feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Vaganov throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Kimura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vaganov won't be happy with that.

Kimura tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kimura has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kimura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vaganov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kimura is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Vaganov wants to get back to his feet.
