Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tubby Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White comes to the cage accompanied by Street Carp by Deftones. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes misses the body punch
and White counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
White lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hayes backs up against the cage.
Tubby Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White misses with a series of wild punches.
White walks into a jab.
White avoids the head kick by Hayes.
Hayes misses with a body shot
and White counters with a one-two to the body.
A low kick from White is predictable there
and Hayes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hayes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hayes feints a jab promting White to slip. Hayes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. White slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Hayes makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

A solid leg kick lands there for Hayes.
Hayes misses with a two punch combination.
A head kick from Hayes lands but White takes it in his stride.
Hayes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but White paws at him with a jab and circles away.
White tries a low kick but Hayes avoids it.
Hayes connects with a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hayes is defended easily by White.

White misses with a wild combination.

and White takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
White swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hayes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. White is lucky that one didn't land flush.


It looks like Daniel White has been cut.
Hayes dives in and grabs White's left leg, looking for a takedown. White pushes down on Hayes's head and hops out.
Daniel White is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

enabling Hayes to counter with a crisp jab.

White uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hayes.
Hayes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Hayes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Hayes counters with a right hand to the body.

White is trying to control Hayes's posture but Hayes avoids it.

Hayes creates some space and throws a big elbow, but White sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White can't do much from the bottom here.
White gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Hayes thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
White on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if White tries to get out of the position.
Hayes unloads with some shots from mount but White bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hayes wants to finish this one by submission but White is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hayes.
White tries to hold on but Hayes pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White is squirming around, avoiding Hayes's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tubby Hayes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Hayes counters with a stiff right hand.
White takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

White throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hayes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with White, pushing him back against the cage.
White tries to circle away but Hayes has him pinned against the cage.
White tries to break the clinch but Hayes is controlling the position.

Hayes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hayes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

White rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hayes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hayes shoots in and bounces White off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Daniel White has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
White is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hayes dives into side control.

Hayes creates some space and throws a big elbow, but White sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hayes is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hayes tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hayes in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Tubby Hayes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hayes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
