Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Cades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cades has chosen The Ace Of Spades - Motorhead as his entrance music. Mike Cades looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cameron Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Cades!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cades slips a jab from Thomas.
Cades keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thomas.
Cades misses with a hook

and Thomas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cades's guard now.
Cades looking for a sweep. Not yet Cades, not yet.
Cades preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Thomas thows a big elbow that misses.
Cades keeping full guard, as Thomas tries to pass.
Cades keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully.
Cades utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thomas with a flurry of punches that miss.

We're going to have a standup here because Cameron Thomas wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Cades throws a poor cross that misses

and Thomas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Thomas is looking to work some ground and pound but Cades has wrist control.
Thomas throws and elbow that misses. Cades uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Thomas's guard. Nice move by Cades!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Thomas holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cades preventing the sweep.
Thomas pulls Cades in close to prevent any damage.
Thomas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cades's guard.

Cades kicks Thomas off and gets to his feet.
Mike Cades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Thomas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thomas misses the shot to the body.
Cades tries to move into range but Thomas moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Thomas counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Mike Cades has been cut.

Cades swings widly with a right hand
and Thomas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cades takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Thomas drives through with a takedown into guard.
Thomas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Thomas is stalling in the full guard.
Thomas trying to control the position from guard on top but Cades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Thomas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Thomas works over Cades with some ground and pound from guard.
Thomas is pushing down on Cades's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cades is fighting to maintain full guard but Thomas has managed to sneak the leg through.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cades takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Thomas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Thomas grinds an elbow into Cades's temple.
Thomas postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Thomas in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
You can see the frustration on Cades's face as Thomas controls the position.
Cades is breathing heavily.
Cades avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Thomas.

Thomas looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cades is avoiding damage well.
Thomas controlling the position.
Thomas sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cades is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Thomas lands a few punches from side control.
Cameron Thomas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Thomas is working Cades over with some ground and pound from side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cades can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thomas controls the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thomas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cameron Thomas wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Mike Cades has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Thomas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thomas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cades was well out of range. Poor timing from Thomas.

so Thomas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Thomas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Thomas pushes down on Cades's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Thomas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

We're going to have a standup here because Cameron Thomas wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Cades does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thomas sizes up Cades with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cameron Thomas showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Thomas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
