PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rock Mesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jitsu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nikkfurie- The a la Menthe. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jiu Jitsu was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rock Mesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jiu Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jitsu fails with the takedown
and Jitsu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jitsu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jitsu feints and as Mesnar raises his hands in defense, Jitsu changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jitsu drops back looking for a leg! Mesnar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mesnar manages to kick Jitsu off! Jitsu jumps back into Mesnar's guard.
Mesnar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mesnar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Jitsu won't allow Mesnar to sweep him here.
Mesnar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jitsu on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Mesnar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rock Mesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiu Jitsu.
Jitsu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mesnar avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mesnar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rock Mesnar dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jitsu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mesnar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mesnar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jitsu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mesnar has managed to get both his arms back between Jitsu's legs - danger averted.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mesnar looks up at the clock and then as Jitsu takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mesnar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
A big shot lands for Mesnar! That's hurt Jitsu! Will he recover? Mesnar fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
