The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maris takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Grimm rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Grimm tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maris was well out of range. Poor timing from Grimm.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Maris, right into the meat.
Grimm swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Maris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Grimm avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Grimm keeping moving, preventing Maris from controlling successfully.
Grimm has Maris pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Maris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Grimm.
Grimm lands a jab to Maris's midsection.
Grimm thuds a left hand into Maris's body.
Maris is breathing heavily.

Grimm lands a left and a right that send Maris crashing to the mat, dazed. Grimm thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Maris is rocked!

It looks like Johnny Maris has been cut.

Grimm misses with a straight right.
Oh Maris is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Grimm throws a jab but it's blocked by Maris.

Grimm swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The fighters circling - Grimm throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ben Grimm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grimm throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grimm misses with an uppercut.
Maris is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Grimm just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! And now a right hook, right on the button! Maris has gone limp, and this one is over!
