Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Galapago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Fury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fury is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Carry on My Wayward Island. Austin Fury will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Austin Fury!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Galapago gets tackled into the cage by Fury. Fury maintains the clinch.

Fury is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Galapago can't fight it off and eventually Fury manages to take the fight to the floor. Galapago looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fury controls from within his opponent's guard.
Fury tries to free his leg and advance position but Galapago is retaining full guard.
Fury not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Galapago looking for a sweep. Not yet Galapago, not yet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Fury gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Fury closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Galapago to the mat! Galapago manages to get full guard.
Galapago might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fury stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Galapago swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Galapago is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Fury really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galapago. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fury lands a nice short elbow.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Galapago gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fury to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fury has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Galapago is proving hard to escape from.
Galapago has momentary wrist control but Fury slips an elbow through the middle.

Galapago gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fury wants to stand up but Galapago manages to regain full guard.
Fury wants to control from the top but Galapago keeps moving.

Fury keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Galapago's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Galapago has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fury can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fury is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Galapago is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Galapago has escaped and now he's on top!

Fury manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Fury shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Fury looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Galapago manages to get to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Austin Fury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Fury feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Galapago jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fury walks away with a smile on his face. Galapago gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Galapago shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fury sprawls well. Fury wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Galapago gets slowly back to his feet.

Galapago is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fury off and has taken his back!

Galapago is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fury is defending well though. Galapago let's go of the attempt for now.

Galapago looking to hold on to the position here but Fury rolls and ends up regaining guard.

Fury wants to sweep here but Galapago controlling him for the moment.

Fury is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Galapago is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Steve Galapago has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Fury cracks Galapago with a big right hand but Galapago just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Austin Fury comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
