PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between james blonde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yohan Carano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). blonde has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Yohan Carano will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
blonde doesn't manage to clinch there - Carano circles away.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
blonde has a takedown stuffed.

Carano closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
blonde takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
blonde is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Carano wants to lay and pray for a moment but blonde keeps working.
blonde could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Carano connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused blonde some visible discomfort.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
You can see the frustration on blonde's face as Carano controls the position.
blonde might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Yohan Carano just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

blonde feints and as Carano raises his hands in defense, blonde changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Carano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but blonde can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carano has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Carano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

blonde knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carano on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

blonde closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carano to the mat! Carano manages to get full guard.

Carano might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control blonde kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carano is on top in guard.

Carano drops back looking for a leg! blonde is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and blonde manages to kick Carano off! Carano jumps back into blonde's guard.

Carano seems keen to control blonde's posture.
blonde not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nice takedown defense from blonde. No joy for Carano on that attempt.
blonde lands with a nice combination. Carano backs away looking to recover.
Carano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has blonde pinned against the cage. blonde gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carano takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Carano is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Carano closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carano lands in his opponent's guard.

Carano gets to his feet - blonde follows without any prompting.

Carano darts in and clinches blonde up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

james blonde has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yohan Carano.
