The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tossavainen looks to land a right hand but Tate moved out of range.
Tate throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tossavainen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tate's guard now.
Tossavainen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tossavainen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tate looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tossavainen is one step ahead there.
Tossavainen thows a big elbow that misses.
Tossavainen throwing strikes from guard but Tate blocks nicely.
Tossavainen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tossavainen stopping the sweep attempt from Tate.

Tossavainen postures up in Tate's guard and throws a big left but Tate blocks it.
Tossavainen thows a big elbow that misses.
Tossavainen stands and throws Tate's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tate regains half guard there - taking advantage of Tossavainen's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tossavainen trying to control from half guard but Tate is working away.
Tossavainen missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Tossavainen tries to pass to full mount but Tate defends it.
Tossavainen not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tossavainen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Tossavainen sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tate defending well though.

Tate is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Tossavainen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tate knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tate trying to hold on to Tossavainen's head to control him but Tossavainen postures up.
Tossavainen thows a huge punch but Tate dodges it nicely.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tossavainen connects with a nice short shot to Tate's temple.
Tossavainen is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Tate is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
