Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hominick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and wesley snipes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hominick throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hominick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says snipes as he avoids it easily.
Hominick throws a right hand that snipes ducks under and follows up with a left that snipes also avoids with ease.

Hominick fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but snipes is out of range.

and snipes counters with a single leg into guard. Hominick didn't expect that.
snipes cracks Hominick with a solid left hand.
snipes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hominick's guard.

snipes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hominick does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with snipes in particular looking to stall.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
snipes wants to pass the guard but Hominick is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

snipes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hominick is just riding it out for now. snipes eventually gives up the hold.
snipes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hominick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hominick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for snipes on the ground.

snipes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
snipes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hominick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but snipes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

snipes misses with a head shot. Hominick uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hominick can't keep his opponent in guard - snipes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
snipes is looking to stall here but Hominick recovers full guard.

snipes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
snipes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hominick swivels though and keeps the full guard.
