Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Santos!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos falls off balance throwing a combination
and Savage counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Daniel Santos has been cut.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Santos. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Even with his hooks in, Santos manages to miss with strikes from the back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santos has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Savage has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Santos is looking to control Savage but Savage is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Santos is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Savage knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Savage for a finish.
Santos is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Santos gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Santos gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Santos apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Daniel Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Savage circles away from the clinch attempt
and Savage counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Savage throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santos.

Santos rushes Savage and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Santos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A frustrated look appears on Savage's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Santos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Savage manages to get himself to full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Santos's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Savage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santos on the ground.
Santos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Savage parries the strikes from Santos easily there. Santos is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Savage to escape.

Savage wants to get back to his feet but Santos drags him back down.

Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Daniel Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
