Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Nich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nich has chosen This Calling as his entrance music. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Kurt Angle could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tommy Nich's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Good leg kick by Nich there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Angle closes the distance and clinches up with Nich, looking for a takedown. Angle pushes Nich against the ropes but Nich circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nich connects with a single shot there.
Angle takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Angle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nich wants to stand and escape but Angle is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Kurt Angle will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kurt Angle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Angle feints and as Nich raises his hands in defense, Angle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
