Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Berzins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Shields!

It looks like John Shields has been cut.
Shields shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shields changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Berzins tries to avoid it but Shields manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Berzins to the ground. Berzins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Berzins goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Berzins cracks Shields with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A punch lands to the side of Shields 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Shields shoots and misses
and Berzins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Berzins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shields is trying desperately to land a takedown but Berzins is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Shields.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
