Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zangief Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Shankar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shankar has chosen "Them Belly Full" by Bob Marley as his entrance music. Andre Shankar is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Zangief is predictable there
and Shankar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Shankar shoots in and bounces Zangief off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Shankar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zangief doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shankar.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Shankar stands up out of the half guard.

and Shankar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Zangief!

Shankar is working for a guillotine from mount but Zangief frees his head quite easily.

Shankar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Zangief has worked his arm free - good work by Zangief!

Zangief defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shankar.

Shankar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Shankar thows a huge punch but Zangief dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shankar wants to take a breather but Zangief is having none of it.
Zangief keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Shankar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zangief does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shankar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shankar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zangief has managed to free his arm - good work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shankar wants to work for an arm triangle but Zangief is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Zangief is not content to let Shankar control the position.
Shankar is thwarting Zangief's attempts to control the position.

Zangief wants to improve his position but Shankar is controlling well.
Zangief tries to kick Shankar off but Shankar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Shankar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Shankar maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Zangief could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Shankar has cracked it and Zangief is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Shankar!
