Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Trodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Trodges!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dean throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Trodges tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dean is in Trodges's guard.
Dean pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Trodges is keeping the position for now.

Dean drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dean jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Trodges lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dean!

Trodges working for a submission but Dean is keeping him at bay.
Dean knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trodges on the ground.
Trodges avoids the attempt from Dean to control.
Dean has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Dean tries to escape but Trodges has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Dean is trying to get back to his feet but Trodges has full control of the position and if anything, Dean has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Dean prevents Trodges from getting a body triangle.

Dean rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Trodges has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Trodges goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Dean turns into him and now he's in Trodges's guard.
Trodges not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dean postures up in Trodges's guard and throws a big left but Trodges blocks it.
Trodges keeping moving, preventing Dean from controlling successfully.

Trodges is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dean is aware though and is defending well.
Dean wants to control from the top but Trodges keeps moving.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Trodges is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dean has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Dean tries a head kick but it misses.
Dean thows a leg kick but Trodges checks it

Trodges is sitting in close to Dean's body. Dean has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Trodges is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Trodges is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dean.
