PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ric Sparkler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sparkler comes to the cage accompanied by Like A Sewing Machine. Neil Goldman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Ric Sparkler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neil Goldman!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Sparkler swings for the body but Goldman moves out of range.
Goldman misses with a head kick.
Sparkler misses with a jab to the body
and Goldman counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sparkler tries to clinch but Goldman is having none of it.
Sparkler ducks under a wild hook from Goldman.

Goldman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Sparkler creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Goldman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sparkler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Goldman is fending him off so far but Sparkler persists. Nope, Goldman circles away and we're back to standing.
Sparkler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goldman as he jumps to the side.
Sparkler takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sparkler shoots for a double leg takedown but Goldman sprawls well. He's pushed Sparkler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sparkler looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I've got Goldman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
