The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie wants to clinch
and Griffin counters with a nice uppercut.

Griffin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gracie controls Griffin momentarily but Griffin frees himself.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Griffin controlling him for the moment.

Griffin is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin throws a strike but Gracie rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Griffin throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Gracie wants to stand but Griffin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Griffin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Griffin lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.
Griffin lands with a straight right. Gracie didn't see that one coming.
Gracie wants to clinch but Griffin slips to the side
enabling Griffin to counter with a crisp jab.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Griffin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gracie thinking.
Gracie looks gassed!
Griffin scores with a decent looking hook.

It looks like Ronaldo Gracie has been cut.
Griffin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Ronaldo Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Griffin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A jab from Griffin does it's job there.
Griffin connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off.
Griffin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Griffin scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
