Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamey Jasta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Styles might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Boyz N The Hood by Eazy E. Jasta has chosen Smash Your Enemies as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Styles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamey Jasta!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jasta scores with a kick to the midsection.
Styles tries to bum rush Jasta with a series of wild strikes but Jasta uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jasta misses with a body kick.
Jasta misses with an attempted mid kick.
Styles getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jasta pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jasta lets loose with a powerful body kick. Styles will feel that in the morning.
Styles feints a jab promting Jasta to slip. Styles then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jasta slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jasta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Styles.
Jasta tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Styles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jasta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A punch lands to the side of Jasta 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Styles connects with a body shot that sends Jasta's belly button to the back.
Styles scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jasta doesn't seem bothered though.
Jasta tries to clinch up but Styles circles away and keeps his distance.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jasta.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jasta.

Styles misses with a jab to the body
and Jasta counters with a nice low kick that buckles Styles's knee momentarily.
Styles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Styles wants it to stay on the feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jasta, right into the meat.

It looks like Jason Styles has been cut.
Jasta lands a nice looking kick to the body. Styles takes a step back to recover.
Styles is breathing heavily.
Jasta tries to clinch but Styles is having none of it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Styles crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jasta - the referee stops the clock and Styles gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jasta. Styles manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Jasta lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Styles's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jasta connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Styles scrambles back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jasta is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Styles.

and Jasta counters with a good low kick that Styles was not able to check.

Jasta lands a nice looking kick to the body. Styles takes a step back to recover.

Styles gets tackled into the cage by Jasta. Jasta maintains the clinch.
Jasta lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Jasta tries to land knees in the clinch but Styles avoids the damage to the body.
Jasta lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Styles backwards.

Jasta unloads a knee to the mid-section. Styles lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Jasta throws a punch but it's blocked by Styles.
Jasta changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Styles fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jamey Jasta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crunch! Jasta slams his shin into Styles's torso.
Styles stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jasta.
Jasta throws out a loose jab but Styles uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jasta is looking to clinch but Styles is avoiding it.

Styles tries to sprawl but Jasta drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Styles won't allow Jasta to pass to mount.
Jasta slows the pace down in half guard.
Jasta wants to take a breather but Styles is having none of it.

Jasta is looking for a kimura but Styles is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jasta to get the leverage.
Jasta seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jasta is trying to control the action in half guard but Styles is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Jasta is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Jasta goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jasta throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Styles's head.
Jasta throws a lazy uppercut
and Styles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Styles throws a body punch but Jasta moves out of range.
Styles avoids the head kick by Jasta.
Styles will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Jasta throws the kick towards the body but Styles avoids it.
Jasta steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Styles.

Jasta throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Both fighters circling a little - Jasta finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Good leg kick by Jasta there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Styles connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jasta.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A frustrated look appears on Styles's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Styles has had enough of the clinch but Jasta keeps him there for the moment.

Jasta wants the takedown. Styles is fighting it off but Jasta persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Styles's guard against the cage.

Jasta postures up in Styles's guard and throws a big left but Styles blocks it.
Jasta stands and throws Styles's legs to the side, diving into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Styles is trying to get back to his feet.
Styles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jasta on the ground.
The ground and pound from Jasta seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jasta in side control, throwing shots but Styles defends.
Jasta content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Jasta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jasta lands a nice forearm strike.

Jasta wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Styles, who protects the arm well.
