The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Martinez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Martinez connects with a leg kick. Silva looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Martinez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Silva moves out of range of the body kick.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Martinez pushes him off.
Martinez keeps the fight on the outside.
Martinez swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Martinez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Carlos Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva tries to clinch but Martinez is having none of it.

Martinez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Martinez pushes him off.
Martinez is looking to chop away at Silva's legs.
Martinez misses with a kick to the body.

Silva rushes Martinez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

It looks like Carlos Martinez has been cut.
Martinez is pressed against the cage. Silva pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Martinez! Two more big strikes from Silva and Martinez crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
