The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tibbs misses with a takedown
and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tibbs tries for a takedown but Thomas circles away easily
and Thomas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Thomas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tibbs backs up against the cage.

so Thomas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Mark Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taylor Tibbs.
Thomas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Thomas throws and elbow that misses. Tibbs uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Thomas's guard. Nice move by Tibbs!

Tibbs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Thomas can't keep his opponent in guard - Tibbs advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Thomas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tibbs on the ground.
Tibbs stops Thomas from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tibbs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thomas sees it coming and defends easily.

Thomas pushes Tibbs off and gets back to his feet.

and Thomas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tibbs's guard.

Tibbs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thomas defends well.
