The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yu tries to clinch
and Bawls counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Mike Yu has been cut.
Yu wants to clinch up but Bawls keeps it at a distance.
Bawls throws a body punch but Yu moves out of range.
Bawls scores with a crisp jab that stopped Yu in his tracks.

Yu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yu lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Yu is working Bawls over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bawls is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
