The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donato fails in his attempt to clinch.
Donato swats away the attempt to clinch by Mattos.
Mattos fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Donato on the side of the head.
Mattos catches Donato with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Donato misses with a jab to the body
and Mattos counters with a three punch combo that has Donato backing up. Donato nods at Mattos to acknowledge the strikes.
Mattos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Donato walks into a left hand.
Donato walks into a jab.
Donato walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Donato has eaten all the pies!

Mattos slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Donato is rocked!
Donato gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Mattos gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Donato is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Amelio Mattos!
