The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Higgins seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Higgins wants to free his trapped foot but Johnsson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Johnsson is looking for a sweep. Higgins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Johnsson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Higgins looks to land a strike but Johnsson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Higgins throws and elbow that misses. Johnsson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Higgins 's guard. Nice move by Johnsson!

Higgins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
