Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jayden Marion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butter Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jayden Marion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Butter Bean!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bean enables Marion to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bean manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Marion throwing strikes from guard but Bean blocks nicely.
Bean keeping moving, preventing Marion from controlling successfully.
Marion preventing the sweep.
Marion trying to control the position from guard on top but Bean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marion stops Bean from standing up.
Marion with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bean pulls Marion in to control the position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Marion postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Marion trying to control the position from guard on top but Bean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bean with a poor takedown

and Marion counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bean won't be happy with that.
Marion is looking to take a break and control but Bean is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Marion wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bean, who protects the arm well.
Marion creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bean sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The strikes coming from Marion are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Marion in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Bean wants to control but Marion postures up.

Marion tries for a kimura but Bean is defending well.
Bean is looking to regain half guard here but Marion keeps moving and retains side control.
Bean really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marion. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bean takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Marion works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Marion is trying to get an arm triangle but Bean is defending well.
Marion scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bean to see if he's OK.
Bean wants to get back to his feet.
Marion postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Marion is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bean has escaped the position, nice work there.

Marion tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marion has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marion lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jayden Marion dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bean gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Marion throws a good cross that connects.
Bean misses with a takedown
and Marion counters with a stiff right hand.
Bean with a poor takedown

and Marion counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Marion.
Jayden Marion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butter Bean.
Marion postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Marion is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bean is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bean has escaped and now he's on top!

Marion kicks Bean off and gets to his feet.
Bean misses with a takedown

and Marion counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marion tries to score with some ground and pound. Bean controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Bean wants to get back to his feet.
Marion is looking to take a break and control but Bean is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jayden Marion overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Marion lands a few punches from side control.
Bean tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marion wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marion working the ground and pound but Bean is defending the strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marion advances to mount.
Marion is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Marion content just to control the position here.
Marion raining down hammerfists from mount.
Marion will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marion looking to control but Bean is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Marion working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Bean is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Bean is squirming around, avoiding Marion's attempts to control the action.
Bean tries to hold on but Marion pushes him away.
Marion scoring with strikes but Bean is staying in there.
Marion lands a big elbow - Bean is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Bean is forced to tap out!
