PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Drew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Bash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bash has chosen Black Sabbath - Paranoid as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jon Bash has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bash scores with a nice right hand.
Drew doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bash counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A swing and a miss from Bash.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bash.
Drew with a poor takedown
and Bash counters with a nice uppercut.
Bash misses with a straight right.
Drew throws a sloppy head kick and Bash moves out of range easily.
Bash looks to land a combination. Drew sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Drew is rocked!
Bash throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oh Drew is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Drew finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Drew seems to have got his legs back now.
Bash smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Drew ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bash misses with a straight right.
Drew shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bash as he jumps to the side.

Bash comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Drew. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Drew thows a huge punch but Bash dodges it nicely.

That's time! Drew's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Drew counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bash's knee momentarily.

Bash lands with a hook. Drew tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Drew shoots for a double leg takedown but Bash sprawls well. He's pushed Drew's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Drew lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Bash regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Drew.
Bash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drew. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Drew isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bash stacks Drew on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bash!

Jon Bash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Drew throws and elbow that misses. Bash uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Drew's guard. Nice move by Bash!

Drew has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bash can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jon Bash wasn't active enough on the ground.
Drew fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bash is out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bash catches Drew with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Bash connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Drew's hands.
Bash jabs Drew to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Drew swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Bash counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bash ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Drew moves away.

and Bash connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Bash ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Bash lunges at Drew with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Drew's hand.
Drew gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Bash points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Drew wakes up just in time to hear Bash thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
