Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Cashier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Cashier!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cashier shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Davidson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davidson wants to sweep here but Cashier controlling him for the moment.
Davidson controls Cashier momentarily but Cashier frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davidson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cashier is controlling him.

Cashier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cashier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Davidson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cashier accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cashier drops back looking for a leg! Davidson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davidson manages to kick Cashier off! Cashier jumps back into Davidson's guard.
Davidson controls Cashier momentarily but Cashier frees himself.

Cashier drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Davidson dives on top into guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Davidson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Davidson wants to control from the top but Cashier keeps moving.
Davidson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Cashier has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davidson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davidson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cashier manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davidson has Cashier in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Davidson wants to hit a switch here but Cashier passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Davidson there!

Davidson feints and as Cashier raises his hands in defense, Davidson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cashier is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Davidson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cashier is breathing heavily.
Davidson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Davidson tries to hold on but Cashier postures up.
Davidson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Davidson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Cashier tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Cashier is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Davidson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
