PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Fetch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Hara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hara has chosen Armin van Buuren - Sail as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Fetch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Hara!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fetch shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hara's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fetch seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fetch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hara is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fetch tries to free his leg and advance position but Hara is retaining full guard.
Hara working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fetch.
Fetch won't allow Hara to get back to his feet.
Fetch throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fetch wants to control from the top but Hara keeps moving.
Fetch looking to sit in guard and control but Hara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fetch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hara defends well.
Hara pushes down on Fetch's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Fetch is looking to improve his position.
Hara is trying to control the action in half guard but Fetch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hara trying to mount his opponent but Fetch defends it.
Hara is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Fetch keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Hara is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fetch is surviving well by controlling Hara's body position as best he can.
Hara wants to control the pace but Fetch is squirming around nicely.

Hara has control of Fetch's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fetch regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Hara is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fetch is surviving well by controlling Hara's body position as best he can.

Hara wants to finish this one by submission but Fetch is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hara.

Hara goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fetch is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fetch is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Fetch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hara swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fetch is stalling in the full guard.

Fetch passes into half guard.
Fetch wants to control but Hara is keeping him busy.
Hara is trying to stand up here but Fetch is controlling him well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fetch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hara with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fetch throwing shots but Hara is blocking nicely.

Hara is defending against the submission attempts here by Fetch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hara tries to close the distance and clinch but Fetch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hara looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hara scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Fetch shoots in looking for a takedown. Hara tries to sprawl out of it but Fetch keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hara doesn't manage to clinch there - Fetch circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fetch bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fetch is looking to take a break and control but Hara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fetch prevents Hara from escaping the position.
Fetch misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fetch looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hara is avoiding damage well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hara explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Hara throws out a leg kick but Fetch moves out of range and Hara only half commits.
Fetch closes the distance and clinches up with Hara, looking for a takedown. Fetch pushes Hara against the cage but Hara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fetch avoids the head kick by Hara.

Hara gets a clinch.
Hara pushes Fetch back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Fetch has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hara is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Hara is looking to clinch but Fetch is avoiding it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fetch is defended easily by Hara.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hara looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A head kick from Hara lands but Fetch takes it in his stride.


It looks like Jake Fetch has been cut.
Hara tries to clinch up but Fetch circles away and keeps his distance.

Fetch is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hara lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Fetch backwards.

That kick from Hara tenderised Fetch's leg. Fetch is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hara tries to bum rush Fetch with a series of wild strikes but Fetch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hara lands a head shot.
Fetch takes one to the side of the head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hara is looking to clinch.
Hara tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fetch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A decent looking cross lands there for Hara.
Hara throws a right and a left that Fetch avoids nicely.

Fetch is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hara pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hara tries to sprawl but Fetch drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Hara kicks Fetch off and gets back to his feet.
Josh Hara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hara fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Josh Hara is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hara connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fetch momentarily.
Fetch shoots in for a takedown but Hara shows good takedown defense.

Hara lands a body shot.
Hara presses Fetch against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Josh Hara has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fetch fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hara gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Fetch.

Jake Fetch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hara manages to break the clinch.

Josh Hara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fetch has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
