Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Calamote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ihsan Shagrath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calamote comes to the cage accompanied by I'm not a Superstar. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shagrath darts in trying to clinch
enabling Calamote to counter with a crisp jab.
Ihsan Shagrath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Calamote connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shagrath tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Calamote counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Calamote throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shagrath was covering up waiting for the punch and Calamote finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Calamote has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Shagrath's face.
Shagrath really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Calamote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Calamote seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Calamote looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shagrath with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Calamote is keen to just control but Shagrath is a slippery customer.
