Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brett Davids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Davids might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A nice combination there by Davids.
Johnson misses with a takedown
and Davids counters with a straight right hand.
Johnson shoots and misses
and Davids counters with a series of strikes. Johnson will be more careful next time no doubt.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Davids regains full guard. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Davids has locked up a guillotine! Davids's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Johnson is holding on here and Davids must be using up a lot of energy. Johnson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Davids gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
