Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steven Kabal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawk Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price has chosen Behind Closed Doors - Rise Against as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Kabal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hawk Price!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kabal closes the distance looking to clinch

and Price counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Price.
Kabal keeping moving, preventing Price from controlling successfully.
Price trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Price throws and elbow that misses. Kabal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Price's guard. Nice move by Kabal!

Price looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kabal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kabal wants to stand and escape but instead Price has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Kabal is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Price dives into side control.
Price slows the pace down.

Price is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kabal has escaped the position, nice work there.

Price tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Price has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Price wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kabal, who protects the arm well.
Price in side control, throwing shots but Kabal defends.

Price has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kabal gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Price counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kabal's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Price drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Price jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Price wants to control from the top but Kabal keeps moving.
Kabal can't keep his opponent in guard - Price advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Price works his way into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kabal bucks Price off and manages to get back to his feet!
Price misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kabal wants to clinch

and Price counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kabal's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hawk Price dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kabal tries for a takedown but Price circles away easily

and Price counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kabal won't be happy with that.

Price decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kabal to his feet.
Kabal throws a head kick but Price moves out of range.
Kabal defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Price.
Price tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kabal swivels and escapes.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kabal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Price with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Price trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Price trying to control but Kabal is working from the bottom.
Price not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kabal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Price on the ground.
Price stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kabal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Price drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Price jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hawk Price has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kabal wants to stand and escape but Price is having none of it.
Price is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hawk Price hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Price circles away from the clinch attempt

so Price counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Price wants to control from the top but Kabal keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Price controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kabal keeping moving, preventing Price from controlling successfully.
Kabal trying to keep a closed guard but Price is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hawk Price was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kabal moves to clinch but Price breaks away

and Price counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Price in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hawk Price showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kabal looks to clinch

and Price counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Price slows the pace down in half guard.
Kabal pushes Price off but Price dives into side control.
Kabal is not content to let Price control the position.

Price is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kabal is trying to escape and Price transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kabal is forced to tap! Nice work there by Price! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hawk Price!
