Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Non Phixion - The C.I.A. is Trying to Kill Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jordan Hughes has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jordan Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Kim!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kim. No joy for Hughes on that attempt.
Hughes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Frank Kim has been cut.
Kim is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hughes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hughes.
Kim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hughes dives in and grabs Kim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kim pushes down on Hughes's head and hops out.

Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Kim sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kim as he avoids it easily.

Kim throws a head kick that misses

and Hughes counters with a takedown into side control.
Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Kim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kim can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hughes prevents Kim from escaping the position.
Kim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hughes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kim is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The referee asks Hughes politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hughes prefers to stall for the moment though.
Hughes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kim is not content to let Hughes control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jordan Hughes just wasn't active enough.

and Hughes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kim's guard now.
Kim is wriggling around but Hughes manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim looks gassed!
Kim pushes Hughes off but Hughes dives into side control.
Kim is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hughes has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hughes is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kim's shoulder. That is not cool.

Kim is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Hughes remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We're going to have a standup here because Jordan Hughes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hughes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kim is fending him off so far but Hughes persists. Nope, Kim circles away and we're back to standing.

Hughes just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hughes. Kim does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hughes gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kim counters with a big head kick but Hughes shrugs it off.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kim as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kim avoids the body shot from Hughes.

Hughes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kim avoids it really well and circles away.

and Kim counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hughes is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Kim throws a head kick but Hughes moves out of range.
Hughes shoots for a takedown but Kim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A head kick misses from Kim.
Frank Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kim misses with a head kick.
Kim throws a head kick but Hughes moves out of range.
Kim tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kim moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Kim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kim has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
