Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grozni throws a quick inside leg kick.
Marquez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Marquez counters with a nice uppercut.

Grozni shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Marquez is trying to defend but Grozni finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Marquez is looking for a sweep. Grozni is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grozni tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marquez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grozni somewhat.

That was a close round but I would say that Julio Marquez will probably get the nod.

Marquez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marquez wants it to stay on the feet.
Marquez moves out of range as Grozni throws a body kick.
Grozni pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick from Grozni lands but Marquez takes it in his stride.

and Marquez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Marquez feints a jab promting Grozni to slip. Marquez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Grozni slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Marquez counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Grozni doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Marquez scores with the left hand. Grozni knows he should have avoided that one.
Marquez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grozni moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Grozni lands a head kick. Marquez smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Grozni misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Grozni changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marquez tries to avoid it but Grozni manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marquez to the ground. Marquez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Julio Marquez.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marquez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
