Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deacon Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Griggs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Church by T-Pain. Deacon Griggs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Martinez!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Martinez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Griggs fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Martinez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Griggs scores with a crisp jab that stopped Martinez in his tracks.

Martinez lands a left and a right that send Griggs crashing to the mat, dazed. Martinez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Deacon Griggs has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Griggs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Martinez!
Martinez is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Griggs wants to control the pace but Martinez is squirming around nicely.

Griggs is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Martinez is surviving well by controlling Griggs's body position as best he can.

Griggs wants to take Martinez's back here but Martinez is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Griggs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Griggs goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Martinez is on top in guard.

Griggs throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Martinez escapes and throws Griggs's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Martinez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Martinez misses with a double jab.
Griggs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Martinez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Griggs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Griggs has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Martinez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Griggs yanks on the arm and Martinez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Griggs.
