The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots in and drives through. Wilson sprawls well.
Maia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into Wilson's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Maia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Maia pushes down on Wilson's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Maia is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wilson pushes Maia off looking to stand but Maia dives back in and keeps control.

Maia has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Wilson defend it? Maia steps over the head and cranks it - Wilson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Maia!
