PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Duane Dibbley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jetsky Luckson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luckson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stronger. On his way into the cage it seems that Duane Dibbley has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Duane Dibbley seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Duane Dibbley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jetsky Luckson!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luckson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dibbley stalling in the clinch.
Dibbley wants to get back to striking at distance but Luckson won't allow it.
Dibbley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Luckson walks away with a smile on his face. Dibbley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dibbley cracks a nice hook into Luckson's ribs.
Nice sprawl there from Luckson as Dibbley shoots in.
Dibbley dives in and grabs Luckson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Luckson pushes down on Dibbley's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Duane Dibbley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Luckson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dibbley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Luckson moves into the clinch.
Dibbley blocks the elbow strike.
Luckson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Luckson just leaning against Dibbley, taking a breather.
Luckson wants to stall.

Dibbley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dibbley shoots in but no luck this time.
Dibbley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Luckson to counter with a crisp jab.

Luckson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Luckson closes the distance but Dibbley moves to the side

and Dibbley counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Luckson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dibbley scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dibbley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Luckson has his foot on Dibbley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dibbley works his way back into a safe position though.

Dibbley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Luckson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dibbley has Luckson in his guard.

Dibbley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Luckson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Luckson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dibbley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Luckson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Dibbley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dibbley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Luckson defends it easily.

Dibbley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Luckson is aware though and is defending well.
Luckson distracts Dibbley with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Luckson wants to pass the guard but Dibbley is keeping the position.

Luckson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dibbley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Luckson throws and elbow that misses. Dibbley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Luckson's guard. Nice move by Dibbley!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Duane Dibbley will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Luckson wants to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dibbley is defended easily by Luckson.

Dibbley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dibbley winds up and cracks Luckson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dibbley is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Luckson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
