DaVinci shoots and misses
and Matthews cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Matthews looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DaVinci is fending him off so far but Matthews persists. Nope, DaVinci circles away and we're back to standing.

and Matthews connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

DaVinci shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matthews manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
DaVinci pushes down on Matthews's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Matthews won't allow DaVinci to pass to mount.
DaVinci thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Matthews's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matthews is looking for a sweep. DaVinci is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
DaVinci has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DaVinci tries to pass to full mount but Matthews defends it.
