Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royston De Noteboom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William McDonough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Noteboom comes to the cage accompanied by Rotting Christ - Snowing Still. McDonough has chosen The Beast by Tech N9ne as his entrance music. William McDonough will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Noteboom misses with a wild body shot.

De Noteboom closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McDonough did well to prevent De Noteboom getting side control.
De Noteboom is figuring out what he wants to do next.
McDonough tries to get to full guard but De Noteboom has control of the leg.
De Noteboom scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McDonough cracks a nice hook into De Noteboom's ribs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McDonough scores with a hook to the body. De Noteboom takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
De Noteboom displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McDonough throws out the jab.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDonough is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

De Noteboom seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

McDonough swats away the attempt to clinch by De Noteboom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
De Noteboom tries to close the distance and clinch but McDonough swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McDonough misses with a hook to the body

and De Noteboom counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by De Noteboom.
McDonough is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
De Noteboom has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McDonough throws his legs up looking for a submission but De Noteboom uses it to pass to side control.

De Noteboom shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McDonough manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
De Noteboom not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
De Noteboom slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
McDonough is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

McDonough throws a nice looking combination but De Noteboom bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

De Noteboom decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

McDonough is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

De Noteboom darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

De Noteboom passes the guard and advances to mount!
McDonough is working to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McDonough wants to hold on but De Noteboom pushes him away.
McDonough is in all sorts of trouble here.

De Noteboom sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Royston De Noteboom is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

We're going to have a standup here because Royston De Noteboom wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for De Noteboom, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
