The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eggson with a poor takedown
and Steczuk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Eggson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Steczuk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Eggson fails with the takedown
and Steczuk counters with a stiff right hand.
Adam Steczuk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Eggson.

Steczuk darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Steczuk tries to stand and escape but Eggson is controlling the position.

Steczuk decides to return to a standing position.
Eggson misses with a series of wild punches.
Eggson tries for a takedown but Steczuk circles away easily

and Steczuk counters with a nice double leg into side control. Eggson won't be happy with that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Eggson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eggson looks gassed!
Eggson is looking to get to half guard.
Eggson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steczuk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Eggson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Steczuk controlling the pace for now.

Steczuk is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Eggson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Eggson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Steczuk anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Eggson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Steczuk slips an arm under Eggson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Steczuk has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Steczuk is squeezing on Eggson like an anaconda would it's prey. Eggson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
