Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nycky Downtime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madison has chosen Jizz In My Pants as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nycky Downtime!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Madison!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downtime keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Madison looks to throw the jab but Downtime is out of range.
Downtime misses with a takedown
and Madison counters with a straight right hand.
Downtime scores with a crisp jab that stopped Madison in his tracks.
Madison throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Downtime sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Madison throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Downtime with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Madison to counter with a crisp jab.
Donk. Madison catches Downtime right on the button with a cross.
Downtime looks to clinch
and Madison counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


Downtime is rocked!
Madison throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Downtime.
Downtime closes the distance but Madison moves to the side
and Madison counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Madison circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Madison counter with a right hand.
Madison uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Downtime has time to react.

Downtime shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Madison's guard.
Downtime working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Madison has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Downtime lands a couple of elbows.
Madison wants to stand and escape but Downtime is having none of it.

Madison is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Madison pulls Downtime in close to his closed guard and prevents Downtime from doing any damage or advancing position.
Madison is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Downtime is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Downtime slips a jab and a cross from Madison.
Madison rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Downtime moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Downtime with a poor takedown
and Madison counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nycky Downtime. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Madison circles away from the clinch attempt
and Madison counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Madison misses with a looping right.
Madison feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Downtimes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Madison misses the jab.
Downtime moves to clinch but Madison breaks away
and Madison counters with a series of strikes. Downtime will be more careful next time no doubt.
Oh Downtime is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Downtime avoids the body shot from Madison.
Downtime seems to have got his legs back now.
Madison cracks Downtime with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Downtime steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Madison.
Downtime gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Madison connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
An inside leg kick from Madison misses.
Downtime tries for a takedown but Madison circles away easily
and Madison counters with a nice body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Madison swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Madison dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Downtime throws a head kick but Madison moves out of range.
Downtime misses with a double jab
and Downtime takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Madison misses with a right hand

and Downtime counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Madison!
Downtime is looking to stand but Downtime has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Madison sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Downtime is trying to control. Madison wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Downtime is working for a submission of some sort.
Madison is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Downtime tries to pass the half guard into mount. Madison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Downtime tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Downtime is stalling here. Madison is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Downtime seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Madison has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Madison tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Madison has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Downtime is trying to improve his position.
Madison is chipping away with strikes.
Downtime tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Madison wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Check out the look on Madison's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Downtime is trying to control Madison's posture but Madison avoids it.
Downtime is trying to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Madison is trying to get an arm triangle but Downtime is defending well.

Downtime is not content to let Madison control the position.
Downtime takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Madison thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Madison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Downtime keeps working.
Downtime wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Madison trying to control the action but Downtime is working from the bottom.
Downtime is looking to reverse the position.
Madison is looking to take a break and control but Downtime is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Downtime is trying to control Madison's posture but Madison avoids it.

Jack Madison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Madison gets caught napping as Downtime dives in and scores a takedown. Madison manages to retain guard.
Downtime wants to control from the top but Madison keeps moving.

Downtime postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Madison is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Downtime, into his guard.

Downtime looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Madison is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Downtime working for a triangle but Madison defends it easily.
Madison is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Downtime can't keep his opponent in guard - Madison advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Madison seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Still in half guard, Madison seems content to control.
Downtime tries to get to full guard but Madison has control of the leg.
Downtime wants to control but Madison is keeping busy.
Downtime slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Downtime is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Madison is pushing down on Downtime's leg trying to pass to half guard. Downtime is fighting to maintain full guard but Madison has managed to sneak the leg through.
Madison thows a huge punch but Downtime dodges it nicely.

Downtime pushes Madison off looking to stand but Madison dives back in and keeps control.
Madison is nestled in close to Downtime, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Downtime is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Madison content to control rather than advance.

Downtime wants to control but Madison is keeping busy.

Madison works his foot free and advances to mount.

Downtime tries to hold on but Madison pushes him away.
Downtime keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Downtime is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Madison is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Downtime can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Madison stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Downtime shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Madison counters with a straight that turns Downtime's legs to rubber! Madison pushes forward with more strikes and Downtime goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
