The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gruber scores with a nice strike.

Beattie takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Beattie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gruber to score with a decent uppercut.

Gruber rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beattie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Beattie gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Gruber tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beattie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Beattie moves in looking to clinch but Gruber pushes him off.

Hans Gruber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Beattie does no damage.
Beattie shoots in but Gruber avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hans Gruber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arabian Beattie.

Beattie is looking to control Gruber but Gruber is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Beattie has the hooks in. Gruber is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
