The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva tries to improve position but can't.

Martins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

Martins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Martins rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Martins which made him look bad.
Martins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martins off to one side.

and Silva counters with a good low kick that Martins was not able to check.

Ryan Martins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Martins paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Martins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Martins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.

Martins cracks Silva with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martins tries to take Silva's back but instead Silva uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Martins pulls his head out easily.

Martins wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Martins slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Martins postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.
Silva is looking to stand up but Martins isn't so interested in that idea.
Ryan Martins has got the better of the ground game so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ryan Martins hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martins is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
