Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gardner has chosen Stavesacre - Minuteman as his entrance music. Tyler Durden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Gardner!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Durden looks to clinch

and Gardner counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gardner.
Durden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gardner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Gardner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gardner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Durden counters with a nice uppercut.

and Durden counters with a head kick. That will keep Gardner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Gardner darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Durden is breathing heavily.

Gardner perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gardner lands a nice short elbow.
Gardner stops Durden from getting back to his feet.

Let's hope that Gardner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gardner winds up and cracks Durden with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gardner seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Gardner is nestled in close to Durden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gardner is working Durden over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Durden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gardner on the ground.

Gardner is taking a breather. Durden says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Aaron Gardner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Gardner looks to land a combination. Durden sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Tyler Durden has been cut.

Well Gardner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
