PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kimo Twist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Primo Self (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kimo Twist has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kimo Twist seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kimo Twist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Primo Self!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Self throws a head kick that misses.
Self scores with a one two! Twist had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A shot to the liver by Self. Beautiful body shot.
Twist shoots in looking for a takedown but Self manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Twist's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Self lands with a shot to the body.
Self misses with a series of wild punches.
Self lands a nice shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Twist falls off balance throwing a combination
and Self counters with a stiff right hand.
Twist is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Self.
Self pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A clash of legs there as Twist blocks the low kick.
Self connects with a nice looking jab.

Twist is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Self tries to close the distance and clinch up but Twist swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Oh Twist is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Self throws a head kick that misses

and Twist counters with a shoot takedown. Self fights it but they end up in guard.
Twist seems to have got his legs back now.
Self keeping moving, preventing Twist from controlling successfully.
Twist passes Self's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Twist seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Self does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Self wants to stand back up but Twist manages to pass into side control.
Self is not content to let Twist control the position.

Twist is working to tighten is grip on Self's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Self has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Twist is really squeezing tight and eventually Self passes out! Twist breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
