Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Slayton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Strife!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strife misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Slayton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Strife has Slayton pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Slayton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Strife creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Strife escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Slayton counters with a stiff right hand.
Slayton throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Strife takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Slayton misses with a looping right.
Nice sprawl there from Slayton as Strife shoots in.
Andrew Slayton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Strife.
Strife avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Strife throws a leg kick
and Slayton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Strife connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Strife has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Slayton finds it's way round the side to connect with Strife's head.

Slayton scores with a jab. Strife acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Slayton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Slayton scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Strife looks gassed!
Strife slips a jab and a cross from Slayton.
Strife misses with a hook
and Slayton counters with a head kick. That will keep Strife thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Slayton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Strife scores with a hook to the body. Slayton takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Strife gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Slayton.
Slayton attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Strife moves in looking to clinch but Slayton pushes him off.
Strife checks a leg kick.
Strife is looking to clinch but Slayton is avoiding it.
Slayton's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Slayton duly obliges.
Strife tries for a takedown but Slayton circles away easily
and Slayton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Strife misses with a body punch
and Slayton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


Strife is rocked!
Slayton is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slayton tries to land a body kick
and Strife counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Strife misses with a hook
and Slayton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Strife is still on wobbly legs! Can Slayton finish him?

The fight stays on the outside here - Strife looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Strife seems to have recovered his senses.
Slayton lands a really nice looking cross but Strife seems unphased.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Slayton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Strife paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Slayton's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Strife connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Slayton scrambles back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Strife fails with the takedown.
Strife throws an off balance right hand
letting Slayton counter with a right hand.
Strife with a lazy takedown attempt
and Slayton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Slayton dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Strife takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Slayton counters with a nice uppercut.

and Slayton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Slayton scores with a hook.
Strife sizes up Slayton with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
John Strife seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strife scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Strife rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Slayton counters with a huge left! Strife is in big trouble! He's backing up but Slayton isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Strife from any more damage. A dominating finish by Slayton!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Slayton!
