The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalir tries for a takedown but Bilko circles away easily
and Bilko counters with a straight right hand.

Bilko is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kalir works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kalir takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kalir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bilko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kalir has managed to get both his arms back between Bilko's legs - danger averted.
Bilko throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kalir tries to free his leg and advance position but Bilko is retaining full guard.

Kalir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bilko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kalir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by George Kalir.

Kalir closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bilko did well to prevent Kalir getting side control.
Kalir uses his free foot to push down on Bilko's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bilko.

Kalir is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Kalir extends the arm and Bilko is forced to tap!
