Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce McGoose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daley comes to the cage accompanied by Rise Against - Prayer Of The Refugee. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce McGoose!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daley throws the left hand but McGoose avoids the punch easily.
McGoose on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Daley throws a combination that misses
and McGoose counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Daley lands a lovely overhand right.
Daley throws a series of punches but McGoose moves out of range.
Daley closes the distance and lands a one-two.
McGoose slips a jab from Daley.
Daley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McGoose was well out of range. Poor timing from Daley.
Daley connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McGoose momentarily.
Daley scores with a decent looking hook.
Daley misses with a telegraphed body shot
and McGoose counters with a nice uppercut.
McGoose throws a hook to the side of Daley's head but Daley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Daley fails to land with a series of punches.
Daley falls off balance throwing a combination
and McGoose counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Daley scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McGoose doesn't seem bothered though.
Daley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Daley closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Daley is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
No luck for McGoose with that takedown attempt.

and McGoose counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Daley throws a left and a right that both miss
and McGoose makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

so McGoose counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McGoose prevents Daley from getting back to his feet.

McGoose sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Daley's guard.

McGoose seems to be working for a kimura but Daley defends the submission attempt.

McGoose goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Daley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McGoose.

and McGoose counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Daley wants to stand and escape but McGoose is having none of it.

Daley manages to escape and get back to his feet.
McGoose slips a straight right by Daley.
McGoose fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Daley avoids it really well and circles away.

Daley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Daley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Daley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Daley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Daley throws a looping overhand right but McGoose ducks down to avoid it.

Daley misses with a double jab.

McGoose fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Daley sprawls well initially but McGoose persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
McGoose is trying to control the action in half guard but Daley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McGoose wants to free his trapped foot but Daley is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Daley kicks McGoose off and gets back to his feet.
Daley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McGoose was well out of range. Poor timing from Daley.
McGoose looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and McGoose counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Daley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McGoose fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Paul Daley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce McGoose.

and McGoose counters with a shoot takedown. Daley fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Daley kicks McGoose off and gets to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McGoose rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Daley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McGoose shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Daley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Daley is wriggling around but McGoose manages to pass to half guard.
Bruce McGoose has got the better of the ground game so far.
McGoose is trying to control. Daley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Daley is staying active underneath McGoose, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Daley pushes McGoose off but McGoose dives into side control.

Daley pushes McGoose away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McGoose gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Daley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Daley tries to get out of the position.

Daley is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McGoose has just dragged him back down to the mat.
McGoose wants to control but Daley is keeping him busy.
Daley pushes McGoose away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McGoose gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Daley managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by McGoose.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Daley trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
McGoose looking to control but Daley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

McGoose jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Daley manages to avoid the submission attempt.

McGoose misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
McGoose wants to control the pace but Daley is squirming around nicely.
McGoose throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Daley because McGoose loaded up on that one.

Daley is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

McGoose won't let Daley get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McGoose is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Daley is in real trouble.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - McGoose's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Bruce McGoose showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

McGoose is looking to work his way around to Daley's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
You get the feeling that Daley really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Daley has left one of his arms exposed and McGoose doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Daley screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bruce McGoose!
