The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thatcher darts in trying to clinch
and Cote counters with a stiff right hand.
Thatcher misses with a takedown
and Cote counters with a stiff right hand.

Cote darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cote is thwarting Thatcher's attempts to control the position.

Thatcher is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cote pulls his head out easily.
Cote tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thatcher knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Cote is working for a submission of some sort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cote looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cote is nestled in close to Thatcher, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cote is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thatcher is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
