Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rod Brave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brave comes to the cage accompanied by Eco, Eco (somos de taleco). On his way into the cage it seems that Rod Brave has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rod Brave seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brave did well to prevent Melendez getting side control.
Brave tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brave is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Melendez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Melendez's back!

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Brave gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Brave apologises and we restart here on the feet.

It looks like Gilbert Melendez has been cut.
Melendez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brave. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gilbert Melendez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Brave has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Melendez is trying desperately to improve position.
