PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leik Ards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinner Of Hell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ards comes to the cage accompanied by Superstar. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Of Hell throws a lazy head kick
and Ards counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ards shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Of Hell sprawls well. Of Hell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ards gets slowly back to his feet.
Ards tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Of Hell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Donk. Of Hell catches Ards right on the button with a cross.
Of Hell lands with a kick to the temple. Ards shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Leik Ards has been cut.
Of Hell feints and then cracks Ards's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ards down.

Of Hell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ards looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ards is trying to control Of Hell's posture but Of Hell avoids it.
Of Hell trying to control the position but Ards is working away.
Ards wants to control but Of Hell postures up.

Of Hell throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Ards struggling a bit here.
Ards manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Ards perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Ards wants to free his trapped foot but Of Hell is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Of Hell wants to control but Ards is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Well, if Ards is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Leik Ards just wasn't active enough.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ards wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Of Hell can't get the takedown.
Ards lands an elbow inside that Of Hell shrugs off.

It looks like Sinner Of Hell has been cut.

Of Hell jumps guard and drags Ards to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Of Hell is trying to keep Ards in close.
Ards advances to half guard.
Of Hell works his way to full guard. Good work.

Ards tries to free his leg and advance position but Of Hell is retaining full guard.

Ards gets to his feet. Of Hell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ards shoots and misses

and Of Hell counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Of Hell throwing shots but Ards is blocking nicely.
Of Hell stalling away here and it's allowed Ards to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Ards wants to sweep but no luck.
Ards looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Of Hell puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ards wants to get back to full guard.
Of Hell is keen to just control but Ards is a slippery customer.
Of Hell passes to full mount!

Of Hell swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ards is now in Of Hell's guard. A big mistake from Of Hell there, giving up the dominant position!
Of Hell is trying to control the position but Ards postures up.
Ards seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sinner Of Hell will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ards tries to close the distance and clinch up but Of Hell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ards closes the distance but Of Hell moves to the side

and Of Hell counters by moving into the clinch.
Of Hell jumps guard but Ards stands there with Of Hell around his waist. Of Hell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Of Hell drags the fight down to the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ards has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Of Hell is proving hard to escape from.
Ards lands a couple of digs.
Ards would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Of Hell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Of Hell dodges the punch combination from Ards.
Ards tries to close the distance and clinch but Of Hell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ards tries to close the distance and clinch up but Of Hell swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Ards counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Of Hell!
Leik Ards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sinner Of Hell.
Of Hell is desperately trying to improve his position but Ards has a good base and remains in mount.
Of Hell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ards lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Ards has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

and Ards counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Of Hell's guard now.

Ards throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Of Hell shoots for a double leg takedown but Ards sprawls well. He's pushed Of Hell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ards looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Ards counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Of Hell counters with a shoot takedown. Ards fights it but they end up in guard.

Ards is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Of Hell wants to control from the top but Ards keeps moving.

Ards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Of Hell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Of Hell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
